Black PR: Exploring Their Designers
Fashion PR companies today represent a diverse array of designers who redefine style across a spectrum of aesthetics, from eco-friendly bridal wear to vintage-inspired feminine pieces, innovative jewellery and bold, modern womenswear. Here, we explore the unique styles of designers represented by prominent PR company, Black PR, showcasing how designers bring their vision to life through craftsmanship, innovation, and intentional design.
BAÉ Moments
BAÉ was born from the friendship and shared vision of Katya Shehurina and Marina Kvasova, who sought to reshape occasion wear with an ethical approach. By combining their design skills, they launched a brand that celebrates life’s special moments with sustainable, versatile pieces, including bridal and evening wear designed to be worn multiple times. In their recent collaboration with ADIDAS RIGA, BAÉ artfully merged sportswear and casual styles, creating pieces that capture the vibrant, streetwise energy of Broadway Market. Debuted at Riga Fashion Week, this collection was styled by Sintija Selicka and showcased activewear with a luxurious twist that resonated widely on social media and in press coverage.
Based in Latvia, BAÉ emphasises artisanal touches by hand making their accessories and crafting in local Latvian factories. Their dresses are thoughtfully designed with adjustable straps for added comfort and customisable accents, like removable bows, allowing the wearer to choose colours that suit their mood. The brand’s ethos, “to make every girl feel special,” perfectly balances casual and formal wear, allowing their pieces to be at home both in magazines and editorial photoshoots. Natalia Petruch
Drawing inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, Natalia Petruch brings a magical, vintage-infused femininity to contemporary fashion. A London College of Fashion graduate, Natalia founded her brand in 2024, focusing on designs that merge whimsy with a dark, layered aesthetic. Her journey includes stints with notable brands such as Amishi London, Jawbreaker Clothing, and Goldie London, which helped refine her distinctive style. Embracing sustainability, her brand uses eco-conscious packaging that avoids plastic and incorporates recycled materials.
Natalia’s collections are a study in contrasts: my favourite design of hers is a blazer adorned with pink tassels, belding femme fatale energy with playful coquette details. Her Spring / Summer 2024 line leaned into themes of dark femininity, while the Autumn / Winter 2024 collection introduced green velour shoes and bows. Natalia’s Instagram @natalia.petruch and website here showcase a world where femininity and vintage style are redefined.
Samantha Siu
New-York based jeweller Samantha Siu brings a global perspective to her designs, inspired by a family legacy in jewellery manufacturing and her own travels. She incorporates ancient wax carving techniques into her work, crafting intricate pieces like the iconic reverse back necklace. This lost art form in jewellery means that creating one clasp takes a month, followed by a couple of weeks before it is completed. Each design reflects her deep respect for the artistry of jewellery-making, honouring ancient techniques while pushing the boundaries of modern craftsmanship. Samantha’s collections are heavily influenced by mythology and her travels, with each piece encapsulating a unique story, crafted by artisans in China and Thailand. Wearing her jewellery is like carrying a piece of her travels, with different stones representing different healing properties.
Siu’s statement jewellery is often worn as a focal point, lending depth to simpler outfits. Her notable collection, “A Love Affair,” which is available at Selfridges, features pieces adorned with animals and magnetic locks for easy wear, with 10% of proceeds going to charitable causes. Her work has been celebrated in Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Vogue, amongst other notable magazines. Founded in 2022, Ahkeke London offers sophisticated, bold designs for women over 30, blending European craftsmanship with sustainable material. Designer Ke Gong, originally from China, studied fashion at Istituto Marangoni and holds a master’s degree from London College of Fashion. Her experience at Osman London and Alexander McQueen laid the foundation for Ahkeke, which features practical, elegant designs with signature “pocket revolution” dresses.
Ahkeke’s collections include vibrant tops, matching sets with gold detailing, and trench coats embellished with stone buttons, creating a blend of elegance and functionality. With a new store in Islington and an existing one in Soho, the brand continues to grow, offering ready-to-wear pieces that balance simplicity with style.
